Marta I. Rendon, M.D.

Marta I. Rendon, M.D. is a Board Certified Dermatologist and is also certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. From her office located in Boca Raton she offers a full range of diagnostic and treatment services for skin diseases, skin cancer and cosmetic/aesthetic enhancements.   

Dr. Rendon is the former chairman of the Department of Dermatology at Cleveland Clinic Florida in Fort Lauderdale. She is a world - renowned researcher on psoriasis, eczema, alpha-hydroxy acids and the effects of cosmetics on the skin. She is a highly sought-after speaker at medical conferences worldwide, and has published extensively. She has been a Clinical Associate Professor of  Dermatology at the University of Miami School of Medicine since 1989, and earned their coveted “Professor of the Year” award in 1990. Additionally, she has received numerous honors and awards from colleges, medical schools and journals. She was the recipient of Who’s Who of American Women, Marquis in 1993 and in 1994. 

Dr. Rendon completed her undergraduate studies at University of Puerto Rico in Mayaquez, and received her medical degree from University of Puerto Rico in San Juan. She performed her residency in internal medicine at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia and then completed a two-year program on the study of Hansen’s Disease at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Training Facility.  She performed her residency in Dermatology at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, and then completed studies in Superficial Anatomy and Cutaneous  Surgery at University of California, Laser Surgery at Marshfield Clinic in Wisconsin and Phototherapy and Photobiology at Johns-Hopkins University.    

Dr. Rendon’s special interests include the dermatologic manifestations of systemic disease, phototherapy  (treatment with ultraviolet light) for diseases such as psoriasis and eczema, cosmetic dermatology, laser surgery, wound care and dermatologic surgery.

Among the dermatology services provided are surgery for skin cancer, laser skin resurfacing, particle dermabrasion, laser hair removal, laser removal of tattoos and hyperpigmented spots, phototherapy and wound healing techniques. She offers a revolutionary celluite reduction program, and a new, more effective method of Botox administration for wrinkle removal. Dr.Rendon also offers her patients specialty  formulated skin care products for use as part of a physician supervised skin care regimen.
