Richard Taylor, M.D.
J.
Richard Taylor, M.D. is a Board Certified Dermatologist now
practicing in Tallahassee.
He is a world-renowned expert in psoriasis and has more
than 100 publications in referred journals and numerous
abstracts, chapters and reviews.
He served as a member of the medical advisory board of
the National Psoriasis Foundation and has lectured
nationally and internationally.
At Skin & Cancer Associates in Tallahassee, he is
the director of the phototherapy center, where both UVA &
UVB light therapy is available.
Dr.
Taylor completed medical school at the University of Utah
School of Medicine in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He completed a year of internship and a year of medical
residency at the same institution before beginning his
dermatology residency training at the University of Oregon in
Portland, Oregon. Upon
completion of his residency program he joined the University
of Miami as an Assistant Professor and Assistant Chief of
Dermatology at the Miami Veterans Administration Medical
Center. In
a few years he became an Associate Professor, then Professor
and Chief of Dermatology at the VAMC.
Dr. Taylor was named Professor Emeritus of Dermatology
and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Miami upon his
retirement in August of 2002.
After
retirement from the University of Miami Dr. Taylor moved to
Tallahassee to join the practice of his daughter-in-law, Dr.
Cynthia Tie. He
sees private patients several hours every day and continues to
perform clinical studies.
